The Shard can be seen between the buildings from the Elephant. 251
London towers above the Victorian Bakerloo Line terminus

Metro Central Heights, built in the 1960s as Alexander Fleming House
architect the Hungarian-born modernist Erno Goldfinger

Everyone still thinks of the Elephan & Castle Shopping centre
as pink, but it has been blue for around 10 years

and it incorporates Hannibal House office block

Elephant Park is the replacement for the demolished Heygate Estate.
Southwark sold it well below market value to developers
and many former residents were scattered to the fringes of London
and beyond, with compensation for leaseholders a fraction
of the price of comparable properties in the area. The council spent
over 10 years running down the area and employed a PR
company to help do so. If we had fair laws there would be many in
jail.

When opened in 1965 it was the first covered shopping mall in Europe

Starta, the tall tower at left was a hands-down winner of the Carbuncle
Cup for the worst building in the country

One the Elephant was completed in 2016. It contains no affordable
