Further along the fence other groups including the London Latinxs
were kicking the fence to make a lot of noise
while others stood on the hill with their banners and posters and
waved to the women inside

Where there is power there is resistance
No human is illegal - and coloured flares draw attention to the message
The flares are some way from the prison where they can be seen clearly.
Because the women inside cannot open
the windows far, many inside don't like smoke flares near the fence
as the smoke and smell hangs on inside.
A rather general banner, but fundamentally it is a racist system that locks
up people in Yarl's Wood and the other detention centres

One banner lists 10 demands the hunger strikers sent out and were
published on the web by Detained Voices

More windows than at previous protests were joining in . Some inside
waved bras out from their windows
and some protesters waved bras back to them
Another former detainee who I think read a poem
'Freedom Freedom SIX months' and 'SOS' and women wave underclothes
and outside women wave back
