The Huntsman pub unexpectedly closed in 2011 after the landlord punched
and stamped on the head of a
regular who didn't drink up quickly enough at closing time. He got 6 years
for GBH.

Hardy's Well on the corner of Dickenson Rd was formerly called Birch
Villa. Opened in 1837 It closed in 2016

We lived here on the top floor here from 1968 to 1970. No blue plaque
yet:-)

Victoria Park Hotel. I lived at several addresses in the area as a
student and from one of them would walk past

here to catch a bus to the university if I was feeling lazy

'The Toast Rack' from Old Hall Lane, architect LC Howitt completed
1960. Grade II listed. Work is about to start to turn it into 210 flats

Platt Chapel, a Grade II listed Unitarian chapel dated 1790, possibly
by John Carr of York; altered 1874, now offices

Owens Park opened in 1966 and I lived in the tower 1967-8 academic year.
Unfortunately the University chose Carillion to redevelop it in 2017...
