From the summit of Crag Fell

The head of Ennerdale from Crag Fell

The weather looked pretty stormy to the east

Lookiong west to the wind farms and Scotland

Starting on the way down towards Grike we could just see Sellafield
in the distance

Mopre offshore wind

The large area of plantation south of Grike has been felled

This is the 'Great Stone of Blakeley'

and is not all that great at all

I climbed up on it too and I think Sam took a picture of me

the nearby stone circle was more impressive. People say that the stones
had all been taken away for use

as gateposts by a local farmer and were only brought back and 'restored'
in 1925 by a Doctor Quine of Frizington.

Blakeley Raise Stone Circle is also known as Kinniside Stone Circle.

The road to Ennerdale Bridge

The diagram on a board, and below the actual view from close to where
it is set beside the path

Ennerdale Bridge

the coast to coast route is framed inside the pub

Ennerdale Bridge Church - the end doesn't match the gothic of the
rest of the building
