Traffic including buses was flowing in both directions over Lambeth
Bridge when I arrived

Police were surrounding the roundabout

and stopping people from walking across unless they could show suitable
ID

Police escort a JCB to go across the bridge on its way to try and
clear the XR camp given permission to be in Vauxhall Park by Lambeth Council

Police search a man carrying a pocket trumpet

The officer seems amused by finding a horn as well

Other people thought to be protesters are searched

One man questions police about their actions

and another photographs the police vans

Two women are searched

They say they have nothing to hide so don't mind being searched

The trumpeter plays

Others arrive

Some with XR flags and many with badges

and more police come

A man shows a passport to be allowed to walk across the bridge

Two men tried to block the road. Police dragged one who had sat down
to the side of the road

and the other was forcefully escorted off

The man who had sat down was arrested

The other did not seem to have been arrested and was loudly shouting
'Extinction!' with others responding 'Rebellion!'

On the other side of the roundabout several groups of protesters had
arrived

I left at this point to photograph a protest I had been told was about to
happen in Trafalgar Square
